Eye tests and stuff

One of the tablets I'm currently taking can cause my tear ducts to dry up so J1 has to test my eyes every week with these little paper sticks. It's called Schirmer's test and they use it on humans too.

The sticks are bent over at the cutout part and placed under the bottom eyelid. J1 does each eye in turn.

Then I have to stand there for 1 minute

The stick acts like blotting paper and a blue line appears which indicates how moist my eyes are. After 1 minute, the stick is taken out and J1 reads the number at the blue line.

Phew! It's fine this week!
I've got to have an ultrasound on my stomach on Tuesday. I hate vets!

Hey Jax how can you stand still like that! It looks like the scene in Clockwork Orange where they hold his eyes open and make him watch movies to recondition him.

oooo Jackson, that looks painful. You are very brave. Muzzer has been "practicing" with new contacts for over a month, so she would have a real problem with your sticks!

OMG Jackson! You're a better pup than I am! Both me and mom totally agree here that we couldn't do that! Does it hurt?

Love ya lots,
Maggie

Oh my dog! That looks awful--I'm with Buster. I thought you were in A Clockwork Orange. Do they play Beethoven's Fifth? Ew! Why do you have to have an ultrasound? Are you pregnant with baby Jacksons? I thought I was pregnant once but it was gas.

Yuck! Looks like sticking toothpicks in your eyes.

You tell that vet that you're protected by the Geneva Convention, and you have rights!

Hope the ultrasound comes out okay...do they play heavy metal rock with a sub-woofer?

Stay sane,

Jackson,

We are Asta's New York distant cousins, once or twice removed, and want to wish you the very best. You are such a handsome guy and you deserve an award for extra bravery and courage. Cheers to J1 and J2!

ooph. ouch.

When I was a tiny basset, I went to the doggie opthamologist. It was not very scary, but then again, no things were stuck in my eye.

Good luck Jackson.
