Cushing's Disease

Hey pals, it's your roving reporter Seymour here.

Poor Jackson is back at the vet again today, being retested for Cushing's Disease. Some of you may remember he was tested for this back in May but the results were inconclusive. The vet thought at the time that he was probably in the early stages of the disease and suggested checking again in a few months. Last Thursday Jackson had a kind of brief fit and so he was taken to the vet for tests. He was there on Friday and he's going to be there all day today. Please keep your paws crossed for him and I'll let you know as soon as we get the results back. I think he's hoping that his dream team of nurses will be on hand to mop his brow when he gets home. Get those uniforms ready girls!

UPDATE: 31.10.07
We're still waiting for all the test results to come back. We'll let you know as soon as we hear any news. Jackson is doing OK. Thank you for all your kind messages.

Hope they treat you right at the vet's office! Make sure you milk it, buddy. They probably love you there too (just like everywhere else).

Keep us posted, and remember that the AireZen and the goober smooches are coming your way in truckloads! (They both have healing properties).

Goober love,

Jax: We are hoping for a good report. We firmly believe that the fit was a reaction to J1 telling you to stay home from the pawty, and that all will be well. When you live in Azrizona, you can believe in things like that and little green men and strange lights in the sky, and we are stickin to it.

Dear Jackson, Seymour and your family
We really hope you will be in good health very soon. There are a lot more holistic vets in the UK. Cushings disease is very difficult to diagnose conclusively and the drugs have very bad side effects. Mum went through this with Benmore and she decided against drug treatment. He lived until he was almost 18 yo. Mum feeds us a natural diet and gives us natural supplements eg alfalfa, to keep our immune systems strong. We really hope whatever is wrong with Jackson can be sorted out very quickly. Mum bought a good book from America written by Dr Richard Pitcairn who is an holistic vet. If your mum is interested, she will scan some pages and email them to you. We're thinking of you, Jackson, and please get well real quick.
Love from Hammer and his family

Keeping paws, toes and hands crossed and holding thumbs (that's what they say in South Africa instead of crossing fingers) that the tests and conclusive and show NO Cushings disease. Praying praying for Jackson.

Seymour...Hey...it's Lacie...Dunstan's friend. I'll do anything to help Jax...I'm only in my first year of nursing school, but I am ready and available to help out Asta and the other RN's to take care of him. I mean, I at least know that you take a dog's "temp" between his toes. For some reason all of my patients's temps never register. Hmm...Oh well...I'll be there if needed!

Prayers, pawsitive thoughts and healing licks to Jackson....Scruffy sends his love too...
