Substantial Wires' Club

Calling all Wire Fox Terriers. Are you tired of people (OK, usually vets) saying "isn't he/she BIG for a fox terrier?" Do you tower head and shoulders over every other WFT that you meet? Is your weight a sensitive subject with your owners? If so, read on...

Applications are cordially invited for membership to the Substantial Wires' Club. Sorry, but no tiddler or pipsqueak WFTs under 12kg (26.5lb) accepted. Them's the rules!

Membership entitles dogs to display the Substantial Wires' Club logo proudly on their blog. They will also be granted the right to supersize everything. That means bigger and better toys, and more importantly bigger snacks and keep 'em coming. After all, we've got to keep our strength up, somehow.

Any blogging or non-blogging WFT wishing to join can email me their photo along with their vital statistics and I'll include them in our membership log and post their photo on our new blog (click here to take a look). See right hand side of the page for email details.

Suggestions for other fringe benefits will be carefully considered by the board, (ie me).

Dogswalk against Cancer with Wirestock

I'm sure a lot of you already know that my wirey pals Ozzy & Romeo are taking part in the annual Dogswalk Against Cancer in NY on 4th May. If you haven't already donated, please click here and contribute to this very worthwhile cause. They're nearly at their target so please be generous!

The creative team over at Mr Doodle's Dog designed a rather splendid "Wirestock" logo for all the wirey walkers. It's available to buy on a variety of products at CafePress so click here to take a look.

We ordered some stuff and it arrived yesterday. Pretty neat, huh? Now they do a dog t-shirt but apparently they're rather a snug fit and as you all know I'm rather on the large side for a WFT. Hey, I'm not fat, I'm just big-boned.

So three cheers to all my wirey pals who will be walking with Ozzy & Romeo. I only wish I could be there with you, barking along.

Googly eyes

Remember my spooky black and white photos taken with J1's lomo fisheye camera? (click here to see them again).

J1 used a colour film for the next batch...

Erm, I don't think she's quite mastered it yet, but any photos with me and Molly in can't be bad!

Handsome is as handsome does

Guess what? A photo of me looking rather cuddly won first prize in a competition held by the online store, Waggers, manufacturers of my lovely grey terrier tunnel bed. This was my winning entry:

Notice that in the photo I'm sitting inside my Waggers bed. Do you think that this may possibly have helped me to attain this splendid victory? Mmmm.

My prize was a gift voucher for £50. And what did we spend it on, you may ask? Why, another terrier tunnel bed, exactly the same as the last one! You can never have too many dog beds or handbags! (J1 made me add the handbag bit. Sigh.)

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

I'm back again! The Js managed to break TWO computers in quick succession so I've been incommunicado for what seems like an eternity. Thankfully they now have their original computer back and the IT doctor thinks its fixed, but please cross your paws just in case.

Now, it hardly ever snows in my little corner of the UK. On Sunday I was waiting to go out for my morning constitutional and suddenly it started snowing very heavily and carried on until the mid afternoon. This is unheard of!

When we eventually went for a walk, I decided that I didn't like the snow one little bit. I tried walking through it, but it was far too cold. In the end I just tried to drag the Js round it. We bravely headed towards the beach and on the way we saw a perky little snow rabbit.

Once we got to the beach I was awfully glad I was wearing my Snitchybug coat.

Brrr, it was far too chilly for my liking!
