Home at last!

Yea, I'm finally back home! I can't tell you how good it feels to be back in my own bed. I didn't want the pawparazzi taking pix today as I'm a little tired and my hair is a bit askew. Hope you can wait until tomorrow...

Let me start with the science stuff first. I found out today that my tumour was a low grade pulmonary bronchiolo-alveolar adenocarcinoma. That's a bit of a mouthful, isn't it? It's a kinda bad tumour as it's malignant, but the good news is that it doesn't seem to have spread elsewhere and from now on I'm scheduled to have chest x-rays every 3 months to check that it doesn't try and sneak back. They just can't get enough of my handsome old self at that hospital! They also discovered that I have early cataracts in both eyes so I've got to see the ophthalmologist every 6 months to check for inflammation. My eyes are a little bit dry, probably because of the medication I've been taking so the Js are having to add artificial tears to my eyes 6 TIMES A DAY, plus an ointment at night...hope it doesn't mess with my eyebrows too much.

Thank you for all your messages; I'm going to post about my barkday tomorrow and show you my pawsome cards, but for the moment I think it's time for a nap. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Why Jackson...

I am so happy that you made it home OK and happy to hear that it sounds like they got that big bad tumor in the nick of time. It's great news that it hasn't invaded anywhere else as you really need all the other bodily parts that make you such a special wire. Everyone will be anxious for you to be well enough to celebrate your barkday in style but rest up and get well and know that everyone is barkin' at ya !!!!!

Oh Jackson, I'm so glad you were home for your barkday. I can't think of a better present that you could have give yourself than getting better enough to go home. And I just know the J's are thrilled! Drag about that tumour business, but very cool that it hasn't spread. In a way, you're kind of lucky with those xrays, because every three months, you will get extra cookies and loads of attention from the nurses.

I'm so so so happy for you Jax! I hope you feel well enough to join the chat on Sunday. Mom says we'll probably be late, because she has two b-day parties to go to on Saturday night, and she won't let me fire up the computer on my own. Grrr.

Sleep well my friend, and keep on getting better.

Jackson, I am so glad to hear that you are home. I'm sure your humans are waiting on you paw and foot. Eyedrops six times a day!?! Geez, I hate those things! Everytime my girl approaches me with those drops in her hand I go running the other way. I'm sure you can manage though since you're so tough.
