Eye, eye!

I had to go back to the hospital last week for them to look at my eyes. Yawn. The cataracts in my left eye are very pronounced. That sort of explains why I keep walking into things. My right eye is doing OK though. The ophthalmologist had lots of spooky equipment and kept turning the lights out to look into my eyes with ginormous goggley things and bright lights, but I didn't mind cos I'm used to J1 poking about with them all the time. Some of you may remember my photos from last year of the Schirmer's eye test, which measures tear production.

I know it looks gruesome, but it's really not that bad. I hope that if any of you pups need to have this test you'll remember these photos and be as brave as me!

Anyway, my eyes have to be checked every 3 months to monitor the level of deterioration but surgery would be a last resort cos I've had more than enough operations to last a lifetime!

There are some cataracts in this house, too, Jackson! We do okay, and the young 'uns help with the oldsters by guiding them round and bumping into us.. err, them.
Maybe we could lend you Swede William for a while!!! Like... a dog year!!!

Hi Jackson! The picture of you having that eye test could have won first prize in T-Bone Beasley's scary eye contest! We sure hope you never have to have another surgery! Penny and I (Poppy) both have cataracts and so far, we are doing okay. We bump into stuff once in a while too, but it doesn't slow us down any.

We hope your whole family has a pawsome Christmas!

Poppy, Penny & Patches

Hi Jackson!

You have surely been through the mill with the operations.

I am sorry to read about your Cat A Rats, but it was interesting because apparently I have got some small Cat A Rats, although I thought they would be called Kitten A Rats.

Have a lovely Christmas, my friend, and I hope this next year will be good to you and your J.

We have some concern about my eyes too. My vet says it is not at all unusual. I would volunteer to send Teka to be your companion animal.

One of my predecessors had cataracts too but he seemed to manage ok, so long as mistress left everything in the same place - hardly a problem as she never cleans anyway.

Oh, and I'm sorry to say she's found J1's blog now, so that's another one that will be distracting her from her prime duty of writing MY blog.

My Aire-Aunts have cataracts too - sometimes they bump into things, but mostly it doesn't bug them too much!

I got your card the other day, thank you so much! I wanted to applogize, because Mommy forgot to send yours out before she left for her holiday trip home. She promised me that she would take care of it as soon as she gets back home!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

Jackson, I've had the tear test done just last month!! But it's def. not as scary as it looks. My eyes are super dry b/c mom has the heat cranked up full blast. The vet prescribed some eye drops and now its much better.

Mom and I are hoping you won't need another surgery.
