The night after...

I think I overindulged during the Dogs with Blogs Cheese and Wine Pawty. I need to take 40 winks.

It was very nice meeting and chatting to so many old and new friends. I hope to visit all your blogs soon.

I've been nominated for Photo of the Month!

Hello pals, Barnaby here.

Now I know some of you might confuse me with Seymour but I'm much nicer. Here we are together for comparison.

As you can see I'm far more handsome, although I do have rather more hair loss. I'm OK with that though. Not all ladies like the hirsute look do they?

Anyway, imagine how thrilled I was to discover that my pal Buster has very kindly nominated me for the Dogs with Blogs Photo of the Month. Oh, I suppose I should mention that Jackson is also in the photo. He's mugging for the camera as usual while I'm standing modestly at the back.

By the way, any ladies out there looking for love might be interested to know that I'm currently single, rather mature (about 60 years old but I don't look my age) and most importantly, I've got my own wheels.

Ta Ta For Now

Needles and pins!

Today I went for my first acupuncture treatment on the degenerated discs in my neck. Here in the UK acupuncture for animals has to be administered by a fully qualified vet trained in acupuncture and there aren't many practitioners near where I live. J1 was a bit worried that I wouldn't like it as I don't like standing still or being handled by strangers. It did feel kind of weird at first but I think I quite liked it. Here are the types of needles that were used. Turn away now if you're squeamish... I am usually the vets' worst enemy because I bark and cause such a fuss. I was quite well behaved this time once I'd terrorised a rabbit in the waiting room. When the needles were put in place I had to stand still for 10 minutes. J1 held my head so that I wouldn't move but I went into a bit of a trance, drooled on her leg and didn't move at all. I think I had about 12 needles in various points on my hind legs, neck and back.

The acupuncturist wanted to put needles in my front legs and feet but I HATE my feet being touched so he didn't try it this time. I'm going back for another session in two weeks. I'll keep you posted on my progress. When we got home I fell into a lovely deep peaceful sleep for hours. Zzzzzzzzzzz.

Finally the Easter Bunny delivers the goods!

I've been waiting all weekend for the Easter Bunny and I was getting worried that Buster may have eaten him but I think perhaps he was just teasing me.
Here's my stash. Pretty good eh?

Don't worry, the egg isn't chocolatey. It's made of dog friendly carob which is completely safe for us canines. These hot cross buns are a bit strange!

Don't even think about asking me to share because I'm soooooooooo greedy that I could polish off the lot in one go if J1 & J2 let me!

Yum. It was worth the wait! And then I had rabbit for tea!

Where's the Easter Bunny? He hasn't called at my house yet!

I am the Stairmaster!

My pal Simba may be King of the Realm and the lovely Sophie may rule the world, but I am
The Stairmaster!
This is my favourite spot. Don't my legs look skinny? That's because the vampire vet has been shaving them again, taking more blood samples.

I try and sit on top of this one too but it's a bit small.

It's to help me get onto my sofa without jumping up. Sometimes I lay across the steps but I always fall off.

I like to sit at the top of the stairs so that I can survey the land and check what J1 & J2 are up to. It's also a good vantage point because I can hear if Riki (the dog that lives across the road) is coming or going. I always recognise the jangling of his name tag and that means its time to bark "hello" at him. He's a bit of a spoilsport though as he never barks back. In fact he always ignores me when we meet in the street despite my best attempts to get his attention by barking wildly at him. One day he will notice me!
