A rather delicate matter...

Enough with the photos! Bring on the cake!
Some of you more observant pups may have noticed from the Dogs with Blogs calendar that it's my birthday in August. Actually, I don't know when my exact birthday is, but the 15th August is the date that J1 & J2 rehomed me 3 years ago and so I decided that I would choose this as my special day.

Onto a rather delicate subject now. Please don't be offended but I do not want any gifts. I hope I'm not being too presumptuous here! I would love to receive e-cards or comments on my blog, but I would rather you made a small donation to your favourite dog (or human) charity than send me a present. I already have everything I need; a loving home with 2 humans that dote on me. What more could anypup want? Also, J1 is a bit stingy with my pocket money so I am unable to reciprocate to all my pals on their special day and I don't want anydog to feel bad or left out.

I'll be spending my birthday with my Irish Terrier pals, Molly & Seamus and I'm sure we'll have a pupcake or two. Don't worry, I'll make sure J1 takes lots of photos!

"You like me, you really like me!"

Hurrah for me! I have been given the following awards:

by Momo and Harry and the

by Butchy.
Thanks pals!

I've been working on my acceptance speech but I can't really match the famous one given by Sally Field for "Places in the Heart". I'm choking up here!

PS I know that most dog bloggers also have these awards, but if anyone is feeling left out, please consider yourself duly awarded, OK?

Happiness is Jackson-shaped

I read about slogan generator a while ago on Sherman, Penny & Lola's blog and thought I would give it a go. If you enter a word or name it generates a slogan for you. Mine was:

Happiness is Jackson-shaped

I thought that was kinda neat.

What's your slogan?

Hey Handsome!

My top five favourite books

What shall I make for dinner tonight?

I've been tagged by my human friend Blue to reveal my top 5 favourite books. Let's get one thing straight, this is strictly MY list. I'm not letting J1 or J2 select their favourites. It is MY blog, after all.

"Dumb Witness" by Agatha Christie.
An obvious choice. Wire Fox Terrier Monsieur Bob solves the mystery (with a little help from Poirot).

"Three Men in a Boat" by Jerome K Jerome.
Tales of Montmorency the Wire Fox Terrier (and three other blokes in a boat, who are far less interesting).

"Cool Cat, Hot Dog" by Sandy Turner
OK, I know it's a book meant for children, but I happen to know that the author has a WFT called Dexter who is the "hot dog" in the title.

"All the Dogs of My Life" by Elizabeth Von Arnim
Autobiography of an eccentric. Guess what? She had fox terriers!

"A Dog Day" by Walter Emanuel
This book describes one day in the life of a rather naughty dog. He chases cats and steals food. He must be a fox terrier!
Some of you may be wondering why I didn't select "The Thin Man" by Dashiell Hammett. The film adaptation stars Asta the Wire Fox Terrier but in the original book Asta was a Schnauzer!
Do any of you want to list your favourite books? If so, please consider yourself TAGGED!

Time Capsule

I've been tagged by Asta NYC to think of 5 items to put in a time capsule which will be opened at some point in the future. This is tricky. How big is the capsule? Can I include perishables? Mmmmm, OK, here goes:

1 A large pawtographed photo of me. I think the future world will be all the better for seeing the handsomeness of me.

2 A huge vat of peanut butter (crunchy of course, smooth is for wimps). Who knows, there may be a shortage of peanuts in the future and I wouldn't want everyone to miss out.

3 If space isn't an issue, maybe some sort of dog toy factory so there would be toys aplenty. See, I'm being pretty generous to future dogs. I hope they thank me. Maybe they could erect some kind of monument in my honour.

4 My veterinary records. I know that sounds a bit sad but hey, I'm a medical mystery what with all my strange and/or rare illnesses. It might be interesting for future vets to see how I clawed by way back to good(ish) health!

5 Running out of inspiration here. Oh, I know. What about the beach? It's my favourite place and in the future we might be all living underground in pods or something. I'd hate for future dogs to miss out on all the great smells and stuff.
Phew, that was difficult. Now I've got to tag some other dogs to complete this task. Howsabout Jake and Just Harry, Amber-Mae and Eddie and Peaches.

I'm back!

Did you miss me? I've been off blog because J1 & J2 went off to Cornwall (in the South West of the UK) for a few days. I stayed at home and J1's mum came to look after me. This was good
news for me because I got to sleep on the guest bed with her and she gave me way more treats! She spoils me, and that's just the way I like it. I didn't take advantage too much; I only managed to destroy one plant pot and my walking harness.
It's going to take me a few days to catch up on all my favourite blogs, but don't worry, I'll be visting you all soon...

Voting time!

I was pleasantly surprised by the number of entries in the World Beard and Moustache Championships for Dogs. I know I said you could cheat a little but really, some of you are the absolute limit! All credit to Ranger the Airedale who decided to go for the au naturel wet look. There is one red herring amongst the contestants. Can you spot who it is?

William Tell

Teka

Sophie Brador

Snickers

Simon

Shelly

Scarlett

Ruby

Ranger

Precious

Molly

The red herring is, of course, Sophie. She is not sporting a beard because she IS a beard for her pal Tricky who prefers male dogs. Normally, Tricky is happy with his life, but there are still rare occasions when he just isn't comfortable flaunting his sexuality. Sophie, being a beautiful girl is the perfect beard for him in these tricky situations. Did you guess right?
Please cast your votes:
