Eye, eye!

I had to go back to the hospital last week for them to look at my eyes. Yawn. The cataracts in my left eye are very pronounced. That sort of explains why I keep walking into things. My right eye is doing OK though. The ophthalmologist had lots of spooky equipment and kept turning the lights out to look into my eyes with ginormous goggley things and bright lights, but I didn't mind cos I'm used to J1 poking about with them all the time. Some of you may remember my photos from last year of the Schirmer's eye test, which measures tear production.

I know it looks gruesome, but it's really not that bad. I hope that if any of you pups need to have this test you'll remember these photos and be as brave as me!

Anyway, my eyes have to be checked every 3 months to monitor the level of deterioration but surgery would be a last resort cos I've had more than enough operations to last a lifetime!

I ALMOST got to meet Molly & Taffy...

J1 was out all Sunday afternoon, and I have only just learned that she was in London gallivanting with my pals Blue and Molly & Taffy and lots of Welsh Terriers. She went along to a WELTAF (Welsh Terriers & Friends) walk through Hyde Park, Green Park and St James Park. She forgot to take her camera along (probably because she felt guilty about not taking me) but you can see lots of photos on Blue's blog. And do you know what the worst part is? There was another fox terrier there called Sally who I COULD have met had I been invited! There was one small consolation though. Karen, one of the organisers of the walk, very kindly gave J1 a bag of delicious fancypants biscuits to give to me. The wrapping even had fox terriers on it! Thanks Karen, you're a pal!

I also got a delightful santa-shaped rubbery ball from Blue which was very tasty.

Sorry this is a bit out of focus but I just wouldn't keep still!

I really enjoyed eating it. What's that? Wasn't I SUPPOSED to eat it???

Oooops!

Get more of your handsome Jackson fix...

Can't get enough of handsome Jackson? Never fear, J1 has opened a Flickr account to collect together her favourite photos of me. About time too, I hear you say.

Admittedly, you've probably seen a lot of the photos before on this blog, but hey, even if I DO say so myself, I look preeeetttty goooooood!

Click here to sneak a peek.

One of my pawsonal favourites...

Actually, I prefer the proper medical term, lipoma...

Yay, the thing on my tail has been confirmed as a fatty lump. Actually I prefer the proper medical term, lipoma. Somehow sounds more dignified, don't you think? Anyway, it's going to stay there unless it gets any bigger or explodes (unlikely!).

Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been blogging much recently. This is simply not acceptable so I decided to teach J1, my typist, a lesson. Last week I attacked her slippers while she was out gallivanting at work. I don't quite know what came over me because I've NEVER done anything like this before. They didn't really taste too good so I only went for the juicy rubbery bits which I then carefully vomited up later on their bedroom floor.

Here I am using one of the slippers as a headrest

As you can see, I think my ploy worked because here I am blogging again. Do you think she's learnt her lesson, or shall I go for her new suede boots next?

All clear!

Last week I spent a really boring day at the local vet while they poked and prodded me. They x-rayed my chest to see if the tumour had tried to sneak back, and they also x-rayed my abdomen to check for those horrid kidney stones. Do you want to hear some good news??? They didn't find anything. Nada, Rien, Nuffink! The x-rays were then sent to the specialist hospital for them to check too and they have given me the all clear! This means I can wait 6 months before they check me again. Woohoo!

While I was there the vet also stole a big section of the ugly lump on my tail to admire further. Still waiting for results but paws crossed it's just a fatty lump (hey, who are you calling a fatty lump?).

So I have now had TWO malignant tumours removed (one in my neck and one in my lung) and I'm still here and I'm going nowhere. The Jax is Bax. Whatever that means.

Blog rivalry and bed update

J1 has started her own Forever Foxed blog. What's the big idea? She already knows that it won't get anywhere near as many visitors as mine so I don't know why she's bothering. Ho hum, sometimes you just have to humour the humans, I guess. You can take a look if you really must but please don't encourage her too much. Her real job is waiting on me hand and paw and being my typist. That shouldn't leave her much time for anything else.

More on the new memory foam bed. It really is the ♥BEST♥... I like it so much that I'm actually too comfy to get up in the morning and J1 has to prise me out of it with a chisel! J1 has a couple of complaints though. She says that the fleecy base which is a strange oatmeal colour already looks dirty even though it isn't and she thinks the bolster bit is too noisy. According to her it "rustles" every time I turn over. What do I care, it's giving me the best nights sleep I've had in years! Sweet dreams...

Time for a snooze?

Do any of you have memory foam beds? J1 has been toying with the idea of buying one for me for ages to help with my neck problems.. After hours of painstaking research she finally chose this one made by Orvis... it's even got my name embroidered on it!

Whilst it's not quite as stylish as my lovely Cath Kidston bed...

...or as cosy as my terrier tunnel...

it certainly is sooperdooper comfy. J1 wanted to test it, but I told her to clear off! It's for dogs not great big lolloping humans! Bloomin' cheek! I'll let you know if it meets my exacting standards...On first inspection it gets a mighty 4 paws-up!
